Sim Camping v2.0 Owner's Manual =============== +---------------------------------------------+ | *WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING* | +---------------------------------------------+ When you first rez this object, a large bright yellow/orange window will drop down to ask you to give permission to debit your account. Take the time to re-read this window every time you see it, and pay attention to what is says is asking for permission. If you have any doubts about what is asking to take money from you, do *NOT* grant the permission. Delete the item and try rezzing a copy of the item you wanted. However, as the point of a camping device is to give money from you to others, you *MUST* grant this permission for your camping device to work. =============== Welcome to the wonderful world of being a Land Baron or Baroness. As a land owner, one of your primary concerns is Traffic, that elusively magic number determined each night by the Lindens based on how many visitors that visit your property, and how long they stay. This number can be found in the Land Information Window, under the General Tab, and it helps determine how high your property is listed in searches. Camping is proven to be one of the best ways to pull visitors and keep them on your land, pushing your traffic rating higher and higher. =============== Initial Setup =============== The first step in setting up your Sim Camping device is to rez it. Two objects need to be rezzed: The Camping Relay, and a small Paybox Server to handle payouts and track statistics. The two boxes may be moved independently of each other, as long as they stay within the same Region/SIM/Estate. All menus and chat commands to enter settings have a 1 minute time-out, after which pressing the buttons will have no effect. Simply hit the [Ignore] button, and touch the Paybox Server or the Sim Camping device again for a new menu. =============== The Relay =============== This object allows avatars to log into the system. When it is rezzed, it will test for group land. If it is on group land, you will need to deed it to the group if you would like to restrict avatars to the group parcel. You also have the option to bypass by clicking on it. This will allow the campers to roam the entire region and remain logged in. If rezzed on land you own, it will automatically start and restrict avatars to your parcel. =============== The Paybox Server =============== The Paybox Server will start out by saying in hover text "No Debt Perms". A yellow-orange box will drop down saying that an object wants permission to take Linden Dollars (L$) from your account. You must Grant these permissions for the Sim Camping device to work. The Sim Camping device will start out with basic defaults - Camping at a rate of $3L/10mins. Clicking the server gives these menu options: This menu times out after about a minute. [Boot Av] [BotCheck] [Turn Off] [ Login ] [ Logout ] [ Stats ] [ Config ] [Mass Pay ] [ Done ] [ Login ] Allows the owner to login to simulate camping and verify proper operation [Logout ] Logs the owner out [Boot Av] Prompts you to enter a campers name on channel 1 i.e. /1 Sarah Showboat This would pay Sarah, and log her out of the system [BotCheck] Pressing this forces a check to be performed and logs out avatars who fail to answer [Turn Off] Disable the camping system, changes to [Turn On] [Mass Pay] Pay all campers then remove them from the list [Stats] Sends an Instant Message containing current statistics for the Sim Camping device to the owner. The Paybox Server will not return results until after the first midnight after the first payout. [Config] Leads to a submenu where the settings for the Camping device may be set up. Includes [Max Cycle], [Max Camper], [Max Daily] [Pay Amt],[Time Cycle], [Update], [<--Back], [Read Note], [Done], and [Ignore]. See below for the full explanation of these settings. [Done] Closes the menu. [Ignore] Closes the menu as well. -------------------------------------- Sim Camping Device - Config Menu -------------------------------------- [Max Cycle] This is the maximum a particular avatar can accumulate during one particular session. For this beta version, a person must be able to earn at least 10L per sesssion. To set it, press this button, then say the number on Chat Channel 1 - for example, "/1 12" (without the quotes) would set the maximum payout per camping session to 12L. [Max Camper] This is the maximum number of users who can be logged in on the camper at once. As above, press the button on the menu, then say the maximum number of campers in Chat Channel 1 - "/1 3" to set it to a maximum of 3 people. [Pay Amt] The amount to be paid per period the Camp device is set for - if you have it set to accumulate every 7 minutes, then every seven minutes this amount gets added to the the payout for the camper when they log out or leave. The same method of saying the amount in Chat Channel 1 is employed - "/1 2" sets $2L per every so many minutes after picking this menu option. [Time Cycle] The period for each [Pay Amt] cycle. This is said in channel 1, after picking the button on the menu. "/1 30" would set the Sim Camping device to 30 minutes. [Update] Update will contact the Update server and find out if a new version of the Sim Camping device has been released. [<--Back] Returns from the Config menu, back to the Main menu. [Done] Closes the menu. [Ignore] Closes the menu as well. -------------------------------------- Sim Camping Device - _config notecard -------------------------------------- Some settings in the sim camping device must be configured through the notecard. Settings in the notecard include: Hovertext - desired text follows the '=' sign User messages - desired text follows the '=' sign Managers - users name (capitolization is neccessary) separated by ';' Banned users - users name (capitolization is neccessary) separated by ';' Script Test - (true/false) this requires users to detach any scripted attachment, effectivly reducing the amount of lag contributed by campers Group Test - (true/false) requires users to be a member of the same group as the pay box Bot Test - (true/false) randomly asks users a question, and gives 3 chances to answer correctly if the user answers wrong 3 times, or doesn't answer they are paid, and logged out of the system Test Mode - (math/note) questions can either be randomly generated, or can come from a notecard you may change the notecard '_bot questions' to ask campers questions you want. _bot questions - enter questions in this format: question;answer;optoin #1;option #2;option #3 i.e. What is 4 x 6?;24;44;28;56;2;46;76;24;45 NOTE - the correct answer must be one of the options =============== Some Final Hints =============== Be sure to consider carefully what you set your payout to, and the maximum number of people you allow to camp - because it adds up faster than you'd believe. Even 1/10 camping is $6L/hr, per avatar - or $144L per avatar per 24 hrs. |
